Your opinion on difficulty of working on E46 vs other car brands

Guys

I've been doing work on my car and found that while the straight six is supposed to be an easy engine to work on, due to tight spacing of everything things are often difficult to undo or decouple.

For example the fuel hose that connects to the fuel rail with virtually no room for your hands to try and squeeze that quick release.
And the crankshaft position sensor that has a bolt on one side only, and when you are tightening it, it doesn't go in straight.
And those shitty torx starter bolts :censor:

I found these seemingly small things to be frustrating. But I am pretty new to cars and may not be taking optimal routes on some of these issues.

Just wondering, for those that may have had Japanese cars or AUDIs and have DIYed them, how are the E46s in comparison ?
