So I've had an intermittent passenger door airbag code for some time. The connectors at the airbag are in good condition, no corrosion. I've tried contact cleaner on them. The first few times it came in I would remove the door panel and check the connection, then clear the code with my Peake tool and it would be gone for several weeks before coming back in.
I suspected I might have electrical problems and checked my battery and alternator and both were going bad so I replaced them both. I was free from airbag codes for a few months before the passenger door airbag code would come back in.
A few months ago, the code wouldn't clear anymore, and was accompanied by a driver's seat position sensor code. I haven't done anything to the driver's seat, haven't unbolted it or moved it in any substantial way, and haven't had any objects roll under the seat that could cause damage to the sensor or its wiring.
I tried to clear the codes again yesterday and now the car is also throwing a code for the passenger seat position sensor.
I'm not super familiar with the airbag systems on these cars, other than knowing that there are some recalls out for the passenger dash airbag and the steering wheel airbags (maybe..depending on age). I've had the passenger dash airbag replaced, and in anycase that is not one of my codes.
I'm looking for advice on where I should be looking to fix these codes. Does this sound like a failure of the SRS module that's located under the armrest area? Are there other failure points of the airbag system that could cause multiple faults like I have been recieving?
