Hello All,
So i have a SGT CSL Trunk (convertible). The trunk looks nice but the outter fiberglass/CF layer is separated from the metal frame causing it to vibrate with music etc.
I reached out to SGT and they advised me to use a non expanding, silicone or rubber spray adhesive.
I agree I would not feel comfortable using anything expanding because I would assume if sprayed incorrectly it could buckle the actual outer layer, but I also am scared to spray a rubber spray adhesive in there for similar reasons.
Would this lead to any kind of issues with the outter layer if I sprayed the adhesive into the gaps between the metal frame and the outer skin and laid some books or something on the top of the trunk to have it settle?
I have read a lot of different methods on how to do this and I was hoping for anyone with experience with these trunks......
Ultimately once I do this I plan on covering the entire trunk with dynamat but prior to that I was looking for another method....
Its really bad, and sounds like complete **** even when the music is very low.... being that it's a convertible you hear this noise badly......
I am also extremely concerned with the paint becoming damaged from this flexing when music is on...
I attached a video too of me just tapping the trunk lid to show it....
thanks :)
