Well guys, the HVAC unit at our rental property has decided to go belly-up, so there's the distinct possibility I might have to part with the E46 and buy something cheaper to free up the funds.
The vital statistics:
- 2002 330i (03/2003 build)
- ZSP and everything associated with that (MTech1, sport seats + suspension, staggered 68s, etc etc).
- Orient blue over gray leather
- 5-speed
- 154K miles
- Slicktop
- Bone stock
- Located in Chattanooga, TN.
Pros:
- All 4 window regulators work just fine.
- Runs perfectly; pulls hard all over the tach.
- Detailed maintenance log over my period of ownership, many many parts replaced. Available upon request.
- Fuel pump + filter replaced in the past few months.
- Expansion tank (OEM BMW), radiator, upper and lower rad hoses and thermostat all replaced in the past 15K miles.
- Southern car; not a lick of rust anywhere
- Heated seats and H/K stereo work great.
Cons:
- Will need new front tires soon
- Cracked windshield cowl
- Small, barely noticeable crease in the driver's side skirt
- Underside of front valence is scuffed up (PO had a steep driveway I guess)
- Chronic P0491/P0492 codes (low flow from SAP). I've replaced all the vacuum hoses and also the pre-cat O2 sensors, but the code is still there. Sometimes it stays off for several days, which is what's allowed me to get the car inspected. Doesn't affect driveability at all which is why I haven't made a major effort to fix it.
- Headlight lenses have the very beginning of glaze.
- A few minor scuffs here and there.
- Could use a thorough detail.
- Typical shift pin detent issue (this has gotten somewhat better since I replaced the shift bushings last summer).
That's full disclosure. Apparently this is one of the more desirable combinations (sedan + slicktop + no rear bulkhead pass-through) for power/track builds.
$5,500 OBO.
