So long story short, I had Performance Technic perform a 6MT swap on my HPF car. I decided to tackle the coding piece because I figured it would be a fun learning experience -____-
12 hours later I am not quite sure I feel the same way, anyway, this is where I'm at, what I've done so far and where I'm stuck.
When I got the car back, it had been flashed with 6MT software, also the $793 SMG option is not present in the VO as per NCSExpert. The car is showing the main three SMG related codes:
0x06 (6) "Time out SMG-CAN"
0x7B (123) "No CAN-bus signal from SMG"
0xB1 (177) "MIL lights up due to prompt from SMG"
and feels like it is in limp mode, low idle, car wants to die after applying throttle and letting off, miss fires on all 6 cylinders, also my boost gauge isn't working anymore -_- coincidentally my oil sensor took a dump too as it is illuminated in yellow upon start, ALSO my oil temp gauge is non funtional... I do have a feeling this could be due to the HPF setup and how my wiring harness is designed for a SMG. I was told there was a difference between the two.
Anyway, looking at INPA, it looks like this software was installed:
7.842.555 31-Oct-2008 MSS54HP E46-M3-USA LEV A7842556.0DA JD39 E46-M3-US
Strange as its for a MSS54HP but my car is a early 2002? the car runs but something is definitely off, I flashed it to:
7.842.973 13-Mar-2009 MSS54 E46 M3 US HS USOBD A7842974.0DA J469 Serie E46 M3 US
and still the same result, shows SMG error codes as present and missfires. I created a empty .MAN file and flashed the DSC and a bunch of other modules to reflect the removed SMG option from the VO but I'm still seeing SMG related codes, what gives? I followed this guide: http://ift.tt/1sZ5NAv
when creating a NCS profile for flashing a default .MAN file as well as this:
anyway, any insight would be greatly appreciated, I don't expect myself sleeping much tonight
TL;DR - I need help coding my HPF M3 to reflect a SMG to 6MT swap

Quote:
Go to your /WORK/ folder. Open FSW_PSW.MAN, select all, delete, save & exit. Load NCS Expert Select "Expertmode" profile Hit "VIN/ZCS/FA" to load your Chassis and Vehicle order info Hit BACK Hit PROCESS ECU Select the chassis, then module you F'd up on. For example "LSZ" On Pre-02 cars It will say "LSZ" and underneath "SG_Codieren" along with some files LSZ.Cxx, LSZ.PRG, etc etc. SG_CODIEREN is the correct job you want. On Post-02 cars It will say "LSZ" and underneath "SG_Codieren" along with some files LSZ.Cxx, LSZ.PRG, etc etc. Hit CHANGE JOB, Select "FA_WRITE" Job. These files are basically from your /DATEN/ folder and contain the proper coding information specific to your car. How does NCS know which files to use? Because it knows by looking at your VIN and VO, then selects the correct files. NCS will then basically read these files, then read your VO and re-write the proper codes, features, activate, deactivate everything to your factory settings. The job is SG_Codieren or FA_Write because you will WRITE your original settings back in. Hit EXECUTE JOB. |
