So I made a stop to my friendly kitchen table FFL to pick up a CZ75 P-07 9mm (new 2014 model, Spoiler Alert: It's awesome)
The guy making a transfer just before me had a Saiga and the eventual talk about AKs brought up the fact that my FFL has the Sam7R-61 AK available for a good price ($1100). Cheapest online is around $1200. Previous owner ran in to money troubles before even using it, so it's pretty much new.
I'm pretty clueless about AKs overall, and where the brands fall in the spectrum of bad to great. All i know is that there is a ban on Russian imports and 922r compliance sounds like a pain in the @$$. I can certainly tell you that Sam7R in person looked premium with the milled receiver.
So, if i chose to only own one AK, would this be it?
Also, what's the situation on quality mags and ammo? Recommendations for either and price is should be paying for brass 762?
