How to install 323ic seat belt outlet cover

I purchased a couple of replacement seat belt outlet covers for our 323ic. I'm assuming the seat belt tensioner has to be removed to somehow thread the seat belt through the outlet cover???? Anyone been down this road and can provide some guidance?
