So, I just installed the auxiliary cable into my glovebox earlier this evening. Then while doing a listening test I noticed a speaker on the right side of the car was rattling. Voice coil?
I'm not sure which speaker is toast, but I will look into it tomorrow when I have time for it. Meanwhile, would it be best to replace the bad unit for another HK equivalent, or look for an aftermarket replacement? If the sound coloring would be completely off in one corner of the car, that would kind of ruin any form of homeostasis there ever was :s
If the HK speakers become so fragile after 10 years, maybe, I'd be better off replacing all the stock HKs for aftermarket speakers..
Have any of you had experience with replacing your stock speakers? How difficult is it to take off the door panels? (It was a PITA to do on my old truck)
