School me on r/c trucks

Thinking about a hobby grade rc for step son. He is 8, he needs a hobby. Kids these days spend too much time in front of screens.



Can anyone recommend a beginner truck with him in mind? He's sharp, and has been eyeballing some toy trucks at the store lately.
