My latest project has been to pull off the SKI PASS SUB DIY an upgrade to what i have already.MY HU is a pioneer AVH P6600DVD and my rear deck has a pair of TS-A1675 Pioneer again (going with a slight theme).
For the Ski Pass I have a 300 watt RMS Kicker SoloBaric L3 8' woofer (have a 10" L5 For Sale- test fitted that first but its too big for the ski pass :tsk:). I had a monoblock for it but sold it. I also have a true 4ga amp wiring kit, pioneer IP-Bus ipod adapter module- not like the non charging generic IP-Bus wire i have installed now for the ipod.
I figured I'd just get a 3/4 or 5 channel amp and: a) wire all 4 major speakers and sub; or B) just get 3/4 ch amp for just the sub and the rear deck.
Main dilemma:
To upgrade the front door speakers, I plan on using a component set from Pioneer their TS-A1605C, I will have to route the new speaker wire through the rubber loom in the door if I want them amped. This seems as if it is difficult to do and can't seem to find a DIY on running newer thicker (14 or 16 gauge) wires through the front door rubber loom at the hinge or anything to that effect.
I wondering if I should just ditch the idea of running an amp to the fronts? that seems on the "halfassed' side of things.
-Any input on the Wiring trough the front door?
-If i do the sub and rears, wont the front sound weak- even if the component setup, using the factory wires?
-Should I get a steering wheel adapter, or is that a waste of time?
-Any other useful tid bits of knowledge/experience?
