Xenon headlight issue

2005 330xi with xenon my question is my driver side seemed dim and then the light went out last night and it threw a code however I tried today and the lamp turned on however was still dim as the night before. Is this an indication that the bulb is failing or are there other issues potentially going on. Any insight much appreciated.
