Good day gentlemen!
Well I'm about to embark on a coolant system overhaul.
I've read the Bentley a few times, read and re-read many DIY threads, and now that I have all the parts on hand I've been going through checklists in my head regarding the procedures, order of events, and how the parts all inter-relate.
A light bulb went off and I realized I did not buy the "coolant connector fitting", number 3 in the diagram below.
I have not seen it included in any pre-packaged kits nor I have I seen it inlcuded in any DIY parts pics.
Considering that, is it safe to assume that this part is a hardy piece and it will not disintegrate upon disassembly?
What I'm trying to avoid is getting knee deep into the project and discovering I need a part. I don't have a dealer close by so mail ordering is my only option which would cause a significant delay.
FYI...I plan to reuse the coolant level sensor, coolant temp sensor (with new oring), ET mounting bracket, and Behr Rad (made in S. Africa, mid 2012 build date). Any red flags here?
Also FYI...here's a list of the parts I have on hand.
OE Exp. Tank (has BMW and Modine Logos)
Ruetters ET Cap
Saleri WP
Whaler TStat
OE Supplier (?) AT TStat
CRP Upper and Lower Hoses
Brass Bleed Screw
Block Drain Plug Washer
BMW Coolant
TIA,
CV
