Hi everyone :hi:
Quick question:
Upon researching a bit, i noticed a few sites mention that the AWD models will require 'trimming' of the strut reinforcement plates in order for them to fit. These are the plates that came with the 'Poor Road package'; the stealer charges ~40 a set... i found OEM plates for $9 a piece :str8pimpi
Anyone with an xi / e46 i suppose know if this trimming is really required? It seems counter to the entire idea of these plates, especially as trimming would be on the area that the nut nearest the center of the bay depends on for transferring stresses. AKA, if this trimming is really such a thing, I would expect the area most vulnerable (aforementioned) to fail first as it always would. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
