Im in the process of trying to decide to keep my E46 Vert or go for an E39 M5. I do need more room since I have a 2 year old and getting in and out of the 2 door is hard. Repairs are cheap and the 6 cyl gets ok gas mileage. Vert is more on insurance.
The E39 M5 im looking at is a 2000 with 120K miles, new clutch, new bushings through out the car, new valve cover gaskets, tune up, Dinan Exhaust and AFE magnum intakes. Car is flawless, all the options, and all receipts for work done. It will be more to maintain, less gas mileage, but cheaper insurance than the E46.
The M5 is my buddies uncle who is looking shortly to sell it. $13,000.
