I was driving a 325xi but unfortunately it got written off as an insurance claim. So today I went to a used car lot and picked up a 2001 330ci for $3k with 127k miles.
Is there anything crucially different that I should know about this car?
Currently redoing the vanos and cooling and doing some upholstery work.
Rotors and pads look good, no rust, no leaking oil, all electronics work.
I know this one is a rwd car and my xi was awd but I mean just general stuff to look out for with this new one.
From the looks of it, it was garage kept because the interior/exterior isn't faded or too worn other than the seats, they have been well sat in... cracked/torn...
Transmission is smooth as silk, clutch and gear changes feel like butter soft and no clunking or grinding.
I guess my biggest concern is the door frames don't fully enclose the windows, much like the m3's, is there any downside to this... do they break often? I know the motors/regulators can go pretty easily.
Eventually I want to do a full M3 conversion for it though... already have the trans/engine sitting here was just looking for the right body to stick it on.
