Ok, so I bought this car used with a bad vcg. Replaced first time and blew it shortly there after. I thought it was due to tightening down vcg on top of a hard pebble of rtv sealant. So I put it a new one that I got from bmw. That one has blown again. I haven't taken it off yet to inspect but it appears to be blown in the same spot as before (back left hand corner when looking under hood). I realized I had about half a quart or more too much oil in there but not sure if that could have caused this issue or not? Is there something else going on here like to much pressure in there or something?
