Was getting rattle noise at idle - worse when ac clutch kicked in - got to the point it was making a loud banging that went away above 1k rpm or so. Changed ac compressor and tensioner pulley - which made things better - but some noise was still there.
Screw driver test from bottom of car to power steering pump was where noise was loudest - so I removed belt today and found tensioner pulley on that side was shot (replaced) - and also replaced idle pulley while I was there.
I left power steering pulley since it has no bearing - and checked play in the ps shaft - no side to side or up and down play - but there is a bit of in/out play if you push/pull on the pulley. Pulley is bolted on tight. Is that normal ?
Started car up - everything seems smooth and quiet right now.
