I need urgent help. I was driving home last night and my brake pedal went hard as I tried braking so I needed to use the handbrake to get me home.
All the brake assist has gone, but as I carried on driving the stiffness dropped slightly as I came to the next junction and had a little bit of brake assist but not normal and then returned solid again.
I disconnected the check valve off the booster and do have some vacuum as I place my finger on the end but I'm not familiar with these things so it could be normal vacuum pressure or it may not be enough? But I'm unsure of how much it should suck, but it does have suction
Also when I had the check valve off the booster there was black oil around that site
I do have an oil leak from the rocker cover gasket which I need to do ASAP but not sure on the vacuum pump itself
Can someone please help me diagnose this braking problem
