Tire fitment Question

I know this is a constant question and I have searched. I know that Style 5s will fit but when the tire size that many people use (205/40/17) is put on the car the total height of the tire/wheel is greater than 5% shorter and this seems too much for all the electronics.



I have an 03 325XiT



Is a tire that is almost 6% shorter than stock ok to use?
