Okay fanatics, I need your help again!
2002 325xiT was moved a short distance so we could snow plow and the next day, it cranks fast but won't start.
Sounded like classic flooding issues so I held the pedal to the floor and cranked for 20-30 sec several times. Tach is moving and it's cranking fast but won't *quite* start.
I tried a shot of starter fluid and nothing changed.
-4 out and hard to work on for long.
put on the battery charger
opened the hatch and the fuel pump is priming and the schrader valve squirts with a lot of pressure. (I have ordered a fuel pressure tester which will be here Tuesday for a decent reading). If the fuel pump was bad the car should have started for a few seconds with the starter fluid but it didn't)
Just replaced all the spark plugs with new and they came out clean but smelled of gas. I cranked the car with the plugs out to blow and residual gas out. Same fast cranking and occasionally catching for a second at most but then just cranking. Tried the pedal to the floor "flood clearing mode" again and also again with the fuel pump disconnected. Still the same result and shot of starter fluid still does nothing.
No codes at all during all of this.
Battery reads 11.8 when fully charged up and 11.2 when cranking. I jumped the battery with my wife's running 325xiT and had the same no start result.
I hooked up OBD fusion and will post a diagnostic report in the following post.
Any educated guesses appreciated***8230;I don't want to start throwing parts at it without a real chance of success. THANKS from the frozen foothills of Colorado!
