Hello
Found this great forum a few weeks ago.
I decided to join to discuss some issues.
I have a 2000 E46 330 ci with the M54B30 engine.
I am very happy with the car, BUT got some issues a while ago.
The engine starts with a long crank and has limited power and stalls at low revs, if I am not very careful when pulling off from first gear.
Also, the tachometer behaves slightly erratic - making jumps of a e few 100 RPM around 4-5 k RPM.
The DME reports code P0335 - crankshaft position sensor.
However, when I measured the crank sensor signal with a scope (using a breakout cable from the PCB of the DME) the signal looks solid. Voltage goes from zero to 5 V and there is no noise or other distortion of the signal.
I also checked the cam shaft sensors (inlet and exhaust) - they are working fine!
Right now I don***8217;t really know what to do.
Have you guys seen something similar in your cars?
Best regards/Gustaf
