So I got in to an extremely minor bumper tap last Saturday 04/19/2014. I was the 2nd car in line at the light and I for some reason I wasn't all there and from a stop I rolled in to the car in front of me. Her car has a slight imprint of my license plate, no cracks in the bumper or broken paint. The only damage to my car was a bent license plate. No loose bumpers on either car. I was not under the influence or drugs or alcohol, my license, registration, insurance are all valid, nobody was hurt and no airbags went off. The first thing I asked the other party was if she's OK, and she confirmed multiple times that she was OK and did not need medical attention. We exchanged insurance, license and personal info just in case because her car is a brand new lease and she didn't want to be held liable for the damage to the bumper if the dealer asked. She said all was well and we parted ways.
Yesterday I get a call stating that she's filing a claim for damage to her car AND injury to the neck! The mention of injury is what worries me. My adjuster stated that, if everything I'm saying is true, I don't have to worry about the her being injured part because there wouldn't be injury in such a low-speed/low-impact scenario such as this. I don't want my rates to go up because I have no marks on my driving record, I don't want my license to be affected because I have no points and I don't want any legal trouble. Is there anything for me to worry about? Please advise. Thanks in advance y'all!
