Hi guys. If anyone's seen my earlier threads, I've had problems with my trans going into limp mode in the past, but I (thought) fixed it. I really don't think there is anything mechanically wrong with my transmission, because when I dropped the pan to change the fluid, the fluid was clean (the color was brown, but there was no slivers of metal) and the magnet was clean aside from a bit of a grayish sludge, which to my understanding, is normal. I have no other lights on the dash atm, but my car just popped back into limp mode on the way back from the grocery store. Does anyone know what in the hell this thing's playing at?
When I fixed it originally, I replaced the MAF as I was getting lean codes (p0171 and p0174), which "cured" the limp mode problem for a little while (2 months-ish), but it went into limp mode again a few days back, so i dropped the pan, changed the filter, and the oil in the trans, and it continues to do this. Is it possible it could be because I literally just changed the fluid and filter? I was meticulous with my process, picked a good Dex VI fluid, did the whole process, etc
The plus side here is if I drive my car in gears 1-4, I can avoid the limp mode. But my commute is a lot of highway miles (~25/each way), so my 5th gear is important to me. Thanks for any ideas guys.
