I am new here and although i can probably fix this with a bit of a wiring change i thought i would ask before even attempting it.
Ive just bought an E46 and none of the rear lights worked properly. something was wrong with the tow bar relay but thats all sorted. the problem i have now is that the brake lights are in wrong place. i shall try to explain.
In the handbook it says that the inner of the 2 rear light bulbs is the brake light and when you look at the bulbs the inner 1 is the dual filament tail\brake light.
However.... when i stick my foot on the brake the outer 1 lights up. off side and nearside are the same. switch the lights on and the rear lights are quite dim.
Is this normal or is there a reason? i cant change the bulbs over because of the offset.
If i swap the wires over will this sort the problem do ya think?
