I dorked around with my transfer case bushing this weekend. I ended up murdering my new bushing.
I figured out how to easily remove the bushing.
Drive a flat screwdriver in between the bushing and the case, bend inward with the screwdriver. Repeat a couple times. Now you can easily knock the bushing out with the dead blow hammer/mallet of your choice. I know this works because I did it twice. sigh.
Why twice? I didn't lubricate the new bushing enough. The bushing stopped short about 1/4 inch from being in. I worked it over pretty good but could never get the last 1/8 of an inch.
I'm going to friggin slather the new one with lubricant and then it should go in pretty easily.
