Has anyone tried fitting the Z4 E85 cruise control stalk onto the E46? Both cars use the same column mounted slipring, so the stalk should just clip in. Cut a hole in the lower steering column plastic cover, do any wiring changes needed and it looks like it will work.
Reason for considering this.
In some places, any air bag changes need to be checked and certified. This means doing a steering wheel change to get cruise control has an additional cost and certification step. Plus with cars made around 2000 there is the single/dual airbag question.
