Six Speed Manual
(Originally an SMG car converted to six speed)

Silver exterior

Sunroof
Xenon Headlights
Leather
Etc....
Over $9000 in mechanical, maintenance, and cosmetic reconditioning all completed within the last year by a certified BMW euro shop located in Columbia, SC.
This car was originally a factory SMG transmission car. SMG failures are common on these cars, can be difficult to diagnose, and expensive to repair. Having purchased the car with a faulty SMG pump system($4000 from BMW) we decided to convert the car over to a traditional 6 speed manual and eliminate any future SMG failures. The conversion option is very common choice in these situations.
The conversion began with removal of all SMG system parts. Followed by removal of the transmission bell housing which was shipped to a BMW performance shop, Performance Technic, in California. The bell housing was machined to match the factory 6 speed manual housing, returned, and fitted back to the factory transmission. The transmission was then reinstalled.
A factory 6 speed shifter, clutch, and associated mechanical components were installed. The final step in the process was to program the car DME(computer)to match the factory 6 six speed configuration. The car is now a fully functional manual 6 speed M3.

I believe this is a wonderful example of an iconic and arguably one of the best M3 examples BMW has ever produced.
