Central locking

I own a 1999 bmw 323i e46, when I go to lock the door via the button on the key, it will lock then unlock (interior lights then come on). I press it again and it happens again. Sometimes all 4 windows will just come down. The keys aren't in my pocket so the button isn't being pressed (like other threads from the past). Apparenlty it may be the general module 5, can someone confirm if it sounds like a problem from the general module 5 or if it's something else. I read through a lot of threads but nothing specified the problem I'm having.
