Hey guys, I've got a 2001 330Ci Auto Convertible and I've been getting this warning light on the dash ...".!D "..It can be reset by turning engine on & off, but 3 days ago it didn't reset, went into Limp mode & started to rev up before changing gear and then started to buck into gear violently..I've also had a burning oil smell in the cabin after using the car at high speeds or for a long period of time& this is when the warning exclamation mark lights up..
After 6 hours sitting outside in the cold, I drove it again, no problems, but it is down on power with no warnings..
It appears to be an ATF overheating issue..I've read that it can be a clogged filter...I had a transmission service last year.
I also have a slight coolant leak and the garage I've taken it too suggest I fix the coolant issue first because it affects the Transmission fluid heating problem..(quote A$2300)
Does this have anything to do with my problem?...
Should I get another Trans Service done again?..
All help would be greatly appreciated..
