Question regarding rough cold idle and valve cover leak..

So I'm still chasing my cold start (sitting 8 hours or greater, not cold temperature wise) rough "misfire feeling" idle issue for the first 3 mins of a cold start that goes away on it's own with no codes. I've scotty smoke tested, replaced all the culprits, except the valve cover gasket because it's not leaking oil. However Jfoj had mentioned that a valve cover gasket leak could cause this (maybe a part of the gasket that doesn't see a lot of oil being splashed so it isn't leaking oil, but leaking "air" when the engine is running.

My question is....if that is my issue, if I pulled the oil filler cap off the engine when it's running, wouldn't it replicate the issue since that would more or less be a huge air leak?? I don't wanna arbitrarily replace the gasket, even though it could probably use it since I have 109,000 miles on it. I've pulled the cap to do the "suction test" when the engine is running and it passed and didn't cause a rough idle issue or any idle change.

It seems like whatever is causing the issue "warms up" and expands and the issue goes away completely after about 3 mins of running until the car sits again for a good while.
