Hi, I'm new to the forum. I bought a 01 325xi 225k mi. today with a blown headgasket. I know it's a common issue, I was wondering if the whole engine should just be swapped, have a spare head ready, or just put the gasket on? Is there anything else I should be aware of because of the high mileage? This is my first bmw, so aside from the basic things it has in common with most cars I don't know much about them.
