04 325i F connector intake tube?

My SES light is on, I may have a small crack in the lower intake tube that I can see however I also noticed the lower tube on the F connector is rotted and broke which I'm thinking may be causing the light to come on as well. I looks like a rubber hose with another smaller hose inside.



What is this hose for, where does it go and is it an easy fix? Please help I need to get this light off for inspection.
