Center Vent Function

I was wondering if anyone could confirm operation of their center vent. It's been pretty hot here in SoCal lately and when I turn the AC on max speed it appears my center vent grates flip up from the velocity of the air. Even if I adjust them back to the center position they still point up over and over unless I turn the air speed down.



I want the air to blow on me not the ceiling! I was curious if the center grates were weak in general and everyone has this problem or if mine is worn out and I need to spend the $60.00 to replace it factory fresh.



Any insight would help!
