Fuel pump going bad again?

Hey Guys,

Brand new here and right away asking questions ;). But I can't seem to find the answer anywhere and this forum seems to be the best informed. Have been lurking for a while and making good use of the DIY's. Thank you for that.

Anyway:

Have had my 325 for a good 2 years now and had fuel pump troubles from the start. At first it was replaced with a second hand pump (just the pump, no the whole unit) and after that one broke just a few months later (both went while on vacation :banghead:) it was replaced with a brand new one almost 2 years ago.

In the times before the replacement I had the long crank before starting and bad starting in general, which I've found described a couple of times here. After the fuel pump was installed these problems went away. After I did a big overhaul on the car and replaced all the filters, fluids etc. Car ran even better then, seemed the fuel filter was very dirty as well. This was about a year ago, but since yesterday the exact same problems returned. Long cranking on warm engine...

I'm fearing this will lead to long cranking and bad starting again and my gut feeling is telling me fuel pump/filter again.

I've only driven about 15k miles since the pump was replaced and even less since the filter and overhaul, so how can it be possible it's going again? Dirt in the tank? Is there anyway to check that? Or any other issues which may lead to this?

Any help would be grealtly appreciated!
