Hi, my mech replaced my sparkplugs and I noticed that he put a dab (a pea sized amount) of dielectric grease on the metal contacts of the boot.
I thought that dielectric means non-conductive. I felt it was strange to coat metal contacts with non-conductive insulating paste. I thought that was meant to be used on the inside boot walls to prevent arching instead and that none should be used on contact points.
I guess some people think that the metal will make physical contact and push off the grease at contact point.
What is the proper way?
