Hey fellow fanatics,
So a few days ago, my clutch engagement went from being perfect to so bad I had to take my clutch stop out. I checked my master cylinder, clean as a whistle. Next I checked my slave cylinder (which I replaced in January). I found everything was very dirty. When I bled the clutch, a lot of fluid came out (all over my hair) I'll just leave that one be..., so I was pretty sure the master cylinder was good, my slave cylinder was practically new, and my clutch was replaced in January. So I decided to try the only other option , the line.
So I picked up a stainless steel clutch line, from UUC motorwerks, i live in Georgia so I got to talk to Rob, awesome guy! I replaced the line, which is ridiculously easy. And bled it. It immediately felt better although not nearly as low as it was. I was already satisfied with the results, however, after driving it for a day, it moved right back up to where it used it be. Perfect clutch feel! However now it's so much better thanks to the stainless steel line, the feel is so sharp, and engagement is linear.
So in summary, if your clutch engages low, and you have no fluid coming out of your master cylinder, replace the clutch line, it's a 30 minute job, and requires a 7 mm, 11 mm, 17 mm, and 14 mm (if you go stainless) wrench and a screw driver, and a friend to help you bleed it. Finally, I also highly recommend the UUC stainless steel clutch line, it makes the clutch feel fantastic, and is only $29.99.
Thanks,
Duncan
PS. I will be installing UUC version 2 CABs within the next two weeks, and will do a review on that as well!
