2005 330ci Convertible - issues!

Hello all-



This is my first post and I am the recent purchaser of a 2005 330ci Convertible. I am from the Minneapolis area and made the mistake of buying a car on eBay from Chicago. Long story short, this has been a nightmare. But enough of my complaining...



My main issue right now is that the previous owner - for some unknown reason - removed the rearview mirror from the car. Now not only does it not stay attached to the windshield, but neither of the key fobs lock or unlock the car - let alone release the trunk or operate the top.



I brought it in to a "luxury" dealer today (non BMW) and after $170 in labor, I am still left with no remote lock/unlock. I have tried the reset items I have found on here (disconnect battery, move key to position II - remove - hold down unlock while pressing lock three times) with no luck.



Question is, is my issue in the mirror itself (compass works and garage door buttons work), or do I have a GM5 module issue? If it is a mirror issue, can I replace the mirror and my key fobs should still work?

Help Z00 plan his trip from Boston to San Jose

I'm moving to SJ from Boston. My options:



1- Sell E46 M3, fly to SJ, buy a different car in SJ.



2- Take a road trip, 5-6 days.



My M3 has 100k on it, well maintained and got plenty of life in it. I'm leaning towards road trip option unless members here convince me otherwise.



Which route to take from Boston to SJ? What to check out on the way?



Any tips/precautions? If I go road trip option, I'll be taking M3 to my techie to check it out. I never drove such a long trip before.

E46 99 323i dead rear passenger tail light

Hey I have a 99 323. I've came across a problem. My rear right tail lights is dead. No reserve light, no turn signal light, no brake light, no nothing. So I looked at the connection and the brown wires connection is like fried. Is that the problem? I need a new rear taillight control module or whatever?

Crushing a BMW with a tank

So you bought a 7 Series and decided you wanted something smaller, more compact. Maybe you bought the car and realized you couldn't live with the color. It's possible the car wouldn't start and the owner has anger management issues. Any of these could be the reason the guy in the video below ran over a 7 Series with a tank. I'm thinking it's probably not any of those and he just like to run stuff over with his tank....Yeah, that's probably it. I'd give it a go if I had the means, check it out.
