e46 rain light sensor not working properly

Hello guys,

Now that the rainy season started, I found out that my rain sensor is not working properly. Automatic headlights are working but the windshield wipers not.

If I'm correct, maybe one month ago, I was o a tight situation and smashed really hard on the brakes. At that moment the passager wasn't wearing seatbelt and smashed straight into the rearview mirror. It might not have anythig to do with it, but I looked one day at the rain sensor and I saw a little bubble on one side of it...
