Gear box issue

I get a minor issue when trying to start the car when its cold. I turn the key to position 2 and I know something isn't right when the P in the gear selection isn't showing. In fact it is blank so no P no R no N no D. When I turn the key for ignition, nothing happens. Also, the brake pedal goes stiff when this happens.



I say it's minor because what I have to do is press the trigger on the gear leaver and very slightly nudge it back, and the P will appear and it will start normally.



It is a problem because I have remote start fitted and this morning I got upset when my baby didn't remote start :thumbdwn:



Anyone experienced this. No error codes showing.
