First, I'd like to apologize for making a thread about something already discussed, but knowing you guys, you'll flame me anyway. Enjoy. Reason I made this thread is cause I'm having trouble testing the ignition coils for my 330i. I have tested three coils by placing the multimeter leads on pins 1-15, but I keep getting 1.8-1.9. I understand the acceptable range is 0.4-08, correct? I also read somewhere that if they read higher then they're bad? Funny thing is my cars not misfiring like crazy...If this was the case. I'm only testing to rule out potentially weak coils. Keep in mind I have 3 bremis ""berus" which I understand have a higher 1.8ohm rating? Someone please clear this up for me. All I want to do is test the ignition coils. I don't know why I'm getting such high reading. I know I can just take the plug out with the coil connected and test for healthy spark while placing thread to a metal surface whole using insulated pliers, but the meter test is much more accurate. Please and thank you!
