I have to say now that BMW electrical systems are pure cr@p, and completely unreliable. This is dealing with multiple pieces of OE modules in my car. Here's what has failed on my car so far:
1. Alarm falsely goes off.
2. Safety module failure.
3. MKIV NAV screen failure.
4. BOTH left and right door locks failed at different times.
5. HK Amp blown.
6. OE iPod adapter failure.
7. LCM (Light Control Module)
8. And the most recent issue, remote key entry failure. Key completely unresponsive. Attempted to re-pair key fails. Forget about replacing modules or keys or batteries, I'm going aftermarket now.
Each issue happened at separate times and none were related. From now on, anything breaks, I'm going aftermarket. It's cheaper and more reliable. This car is a complete and total lemon, and I would not recommend this car to anyone that is not willing to spend total of $70k on a car, and needing to bring to the shop 4+ times a year.
