Grill insert question

I have a 2002 330ci. Yesterday, I had a (long overdue) thorough detail done. The car looks great! Just like new.



But... at some point while I was driving today, the left grill insert fell out! I didn't notice at the time, and so it's gone...



A couple of questions:

1. Has anyone else had this happen?

2. I'll need to get a replacement. I'm thinking from a wrecker. Is the insert identical for all e46 models and years?
