It is the 1st of May, a non working day so, got a little bit bored and thought of asking your opinion on something. Maybe it is a childish curiosity but, I have an issue with an automotive headlight design trend, which seems to persist.
I am not sure how they call this shape, in designer circles but, to me, it seems like a "weeping" headlight / headlamp (whichever term is more used in US). As a BMW owner, I am biased to think that this design cue might have been launched by BMW, with the e46 coupe and e65 facelift.
Anyway, I just quickly compiled few photos, from the internet, which clearly shows either those car designers like this shape so much, or they are out of ideas...
What's your opinion?
In the photo, below, there are also few European models - for those who are not familiar with them, they are very popular models: Opel Astra (a mid sized hatchback, made by GM Europe, also known as Vauxhall and Holden Astra in UK and Australia), Skoda Superb (made by VW, based on Passat with a lower price tag but, very appreciated and solid built - like Toyota Camry is in US).
I believe Mercedes CLA and VW Passat CC are already sold in US, so might need no introduction.
