I have an e83 that has been suffering from a delayed crank after the ignition key is turned. It always turned over and started there was just a slight delay from when you turned the key to when it actually started.
I'm posting here cause it uses the same ignition switch as the e46 (61326901961) and maybe someone here has experienced the same issue?
I'm thinking it's either a failing starter/solenoid or the ignition switch. Any suggestions on how to further pinpoint the cause. There are no error codes thrown (which leads me to lean toward a failing starter) - but as you know that's a fair bit of work to do to find out it was actually the ignition switch.
Does the same thing with both keys. so it's not a key issue. Everything else is fine.
