I just bought my first BMW a few days ago. It is a 2005 330i with Navigation and the business radio.
Everything seemed fine at first (Aside from the airbag light and seatbelt light constantly on).
Today we were driving, listening to music, when the nav screen shut off and wouldn't respond. The radio/volume controls also did not work. We could barely hear music in the back ground.
Eventually, the screen turned back on but I wasn't able to access the Onboard computer option or settings. The volume controls were also very sluggish.
At that point, the signal lights stopped working as did the headlight controls.
I am a little worried as I have only had this car for a few days and I don't want a lot of huge electrical issues.
From my research, it could be the battery going bad, or issues with the Kbus (more likely).
We have found that whoever did previous work on the car was not electrically skilled...the wires were a mess and the headlights weren't connected right (among other things).
We did have the radio and nav system in the trunk disconnected today to fix wiring for the speakers.
Any ideas what to try next?
Could the airbag light and seat belt light be related to the other issues?
We have the battery disconnected right now to see if that helps.
