Looking for some advice here. Tried searching for the issue but am unable to find anyone with my specific issue.
If I leave the car idling in the driveway from cold the engine will heat up but the heat won't kick in. The temp gauge can be at high noon with no heat.....
It's only when I drive the car for 5+ minutes does the heat kick on.
I keep the heater set to 65 oF with the auto button enabled at all times.
Since I have the heat on auto, I can observe when the heat kicks on because the fan speed starts creeping to a higher speed.
Car does not have any noticeable coolant system issues. Engine comes up to temp as it should, no oddities while idling, etc. Coolant level is fine, although very infrequently will I get a low coolant light for a minute or two.
I will also disclose that in 3 years of ownership, I have not refreshed any of the coolant system components.
Thoughts?
Thanks....
