i've searched and learned that alot of people seem to have temperature-induced Xi vibrations on various driveline components.... that's not what i have.
what i have is from a cold start (or any start) i will experience seat-of-the-pants vibrations from moderate/hard acceleration thru 1st and 2nd gear. the car has:
- new Front Axles
- new Front Control Arm Bushings
- new Alignment (obviously, see above)
- new Center Support & Guibo
- Driveshaft U-joints have been inspected and deemed 'good'
- new Transfer Case Mount to replace a worn one
after all of that stuff has been fixed, the remaining vibration ocurrs under load (moderate/hard acceleration) in 1st and 2nd gear only. it feels like its coming from the center of the car. i trust my mechanic and he has inspected every other suspension bushing & motor mount, has actually run the car on the lift and inspected for out-of-balance rotating parts (but could not apply enough load on the lift to get it to act up).
he drained a sample of the Transfer Case fluid which was replaced ~1yr (30,000miles) ago and says its black. this seems concerning? but what aspect of the T-case could be causing the symptoms described above?
Thanks,
