Dont want to start a dealer argument here. Just want to share an experience and remind everyone how lazy a dealer can be.
Problem: Parking Brake was not working properly. Only catching on the last click of the hand brake. Got the car that way. Really did not notice till I had to park on a really steep hill.
Took the car to two BMW dealers and they both said that the brake shoes for the hand brake must be warn out. The adjustment up front by the Hand Brake is fully turned out. Someone must have driven the car with the parking brake on. No more adjustments can be made.
Waited till I needed to have my brakes done. Took the car to an independent shop only find out the parking brakes are in pristine condition. Just needed to be adjusted.
Drove the car for over 2 years with the parking brakes not adjusted properly. :banghead:
Heads up; check and double check then check again.
