IT: Help needed. Google Chrome Deleted my Bookmarks

So I have alot of stuff bookmarked for my car (Parts) and work related stuff.

I open chrome up and I go to look for my favorites and nothing is there. My folders arent even in the menue. I need to get these back asap.



I did this and still nothing



1. Disconnect your Google account from Chrome (Menu > Settings -> Disconnect your Google Account...)



2. Open the bookmarks manager (Ctrl+Shift+O). Select the "Bookmarks bar" in the left hand pane and then select all of your bookmarks in the right hand pane



3. Delete all of the bookmarks you just selected



4. Close Chrome



5. Navigate to either:



Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

Windows Vista/7/8: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\

Mac: %USERPROFILE%\library\Application Support\Google\Chrome\Default

Portable: GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile\Default



6. Find the file named "favicons" and either delete or rename it



7. Re-open Chrome and sign back into your Google Account, making sure to sync bookmarks.



Your bookmarks bar should be populated again with all the icons that were previously missing.
