Help with Limp Home Mode - Specific codes

Hi all,

I've got a problem with my E46 going into Limp Home mode sporadically. It usually does it randomly when driving but as soon as I stop in traffic turning the engine off then back on solves it. It's been doing this for a few weeks.

I have done some research on this forum and other forums and acquired some not-so-certain answers. Here goes with my specific info hoping someone can help:

Independent BMW garage told be it was the throttle housing/body sticking and it could maybe be cleaned but should be replaced. No codes given to me

AA diagnostics revealed 3 codes (my research on these codes in brackets):

1. P0161 (Lamda sensor, post CAT, bank 1

2. P0221 (Throttle/Pedal position sensor, switch B circuit range/performance problem

3. P1633 (Throttle valve adaptation; limp home position

From what I have read before seeing the AA codes I was going to clean the Throttle body butterfly valve, idle control valve and MAF. Now seeing these AA codes I am wondering if there is anything more I need to do?

If you've got this far and can offer some suggestions I would be extremely grateful!!

Thanks
